A few ladybugs were hanging out on these wild dill plants at Port Townsend harbor this weekend. This was a first experimentation with close ups with the Canon. Compared to my other camera, shooting closeups was much easier. For one thing I have a view finder now. The lens, just the basicone that came with the camera, has a blur reducing technology so that taking a picture like this is a 'snap' Sorry, couldn't resist. I was actually spending a lot of time at the harbor shooting sailboats when my husband pointed out the ladybugs. Below is a sailboat shot from Port Townsend. I was trying to capture the reflection of the sailboats on the water. I don't like the way the white pole on the first sailboat blends into the background, but I was happy with their reflections in the water.
